Creamy Garlic Parmesan Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz (about 225g) pasta (fettuccine or spaghetti)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Extra Parmesan for serving

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  3. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
    • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency. Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Serve:
    • Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese before serving.
